South West Counselling Inc. is an approved family counselling organization under the Commonwealth’s Family Law Amendment (Shared Parental Responsibility) Act of 2006. This means that couples experiencing relationship problems are encouraged to seek help to both improve their communication, and to prevent potential relationship breakdown.
South West Counselling Inc. is now also authorized to provide family dispute resolution on behalf of the Australian Government Attorney General’s Department under Section 601 of the Family Law Act 1975.
South West Counselling Inc. is a registered organization on the Family Dispute Resolution Register to provide services directly to the public.
We currently have three registered practitioners who are authorized to provide Family Dispute Resolution to assist you with the preparation of parenting plans for your children. The practitioners can issue certificates for the Family Court of Australia.
South West Counselling Inc. provides an outreach service for the Family Relationship Centre in Bunbury managed by Relationships Australia. South West Counselling Inc. has offices in Busselton, Manjimup, and Margaret River where family dispute resolution practitioners will be working on certain days each week. South West Counselling Inc. can provide up to three hours of mediation without cost. Additional work may involve a charge on a sliding scale dependent on income.
