Our Staff

Our staff are all qualified counselors with varying experience and qualifications. Qualifications include tertiary level qualifications in social work, psychology, and the social sciences. Whilst it is not a requirement that our staff have a relevant tertiary level qualification it is the policy of South West Counselling Inc to seek to employ suitably qualified counselors.

Staff are supervised independently by a Clinical Psychologist and undertake continuing peer supervision and professional development.
 
Other staff members may not be counsellors, but will have particular skills in mediation recognized by the Family Court of Australia for court approved mediation in family dispute resolution. The mediation staff are subject to ongoing supervision and professional development in their own field.
 
Counsellors occasionally move to other employment or to private practice, and to protect their privacy they are not publicly listed on this page. 
 
You will be reassured to know that our staff are subject to formal interviewing checks on commencement, and ongoing Working With Children police checks, and so can provide you with reassurance of their capacity to work with yourself, your partner, or your children with safety. Staff members will identify themselves with our personal identification badge as you meet them.
